During this Hurricane Season refunds for camping will be given only if the campgrounds are officially closed due to a hurricane.
Firewood is available in season at the forest office. Family campground The family campground consists of sites, 70 of them with electricity. All of the sites are within walking distance of Lake Michigan, where you can enjoy more than five miles of undeveloped shoreline.
Because of the high sand dunes, none of the sites offer a view of the lake. All sites are wooded. Flush toilets and shower buildings are across from sites 31 and A dump station available to registered campers is across the main entrance to the campground.
Garbage and recycling are near the dump station. It has two cabins; the Ketchbaw, which sleeps 14 people and the Coenen, which sleeps 16 people.
Groups can reserve one or both rustic cabins, depending on the group size. All reservations for these cabins are done through Reserve America, just as campsites are reserved.

Outdoor group camp Point Beach has an outdoor group camp that accommodates as many as 60 people and is designed for tents and small trailers up to 20 feet in length. Large motor homes and fifth wheel units will not fit in the group camp area and should use the family campground.

The 34 sites are just behind the dunes, so close to the water that you can hear the melody of the surf, and all offer electricity and water. For use as a shower, a community loo, or a changing room at the beach, the Finether Pop Up Shower Tent is a great addition when camping with an extended group of family and friends.
This privacy shelter creates an ideal out-of-sight space for a camp toilet, changing clothes, or showering off after a long hike.
Camping and Lodging. Visitors will be able to reserve campsites and lodging six months in advance from the current date. Bookings may extend from the arrival date to the desired departure date – based on availability and the park’s maximum stay rules.

This linear campground is high on the bluff above the beach. The entrance is in a hard-to-find spot on a dead end portion of the Old Highway 1 Road. Located on a bluff overlooking the Pacific Ocean, South Beach is nature lover’s dream. Easy access to a wide beach strewn with driftwood and teaming with sea creatures ensures that what South Beach lacks in luxury accommodations, it more than makes up for with natural beauty.
South Beach has 55 sites, some accessible for RVs up to 35′ long.
